Our History
The Kintock Group was founded in 1985 as the Greater Philadelphia Center for Community Corrections (GPCCC), which focused on providing reentry services to individuals in Philadelphia who were transitioning from incarceration back into the community. The not-for-profit organization began its operations in a small building located in central Philadelphia and was awarded its first contract by the Federal Bureau of Prisons in 1987. The program, which served male and female offenders, provided employment services, substance use disorder education, and referrals to social service agencies located within the local community. Kintock continued to expand its services in Philadelphia, contracting with both the City of Philadelphia and the State of Pennsylvania, and in 1992, the company’s name was changed from GPCCC to the Kintock Group.
In 1994 Kintock was awarded a contract with the New Jersey Department of Corrections (NJDOC) and opened its first reentry program in the state in Newark, NJ. Subsequently, Kintock was awarded a contract with the Federal Bureau of Prisons in 1996, and thereafter multiple contracts with the New Jersey State Parole Board (NJSPB)in 2000 and 2003. Two additional buildings were built and opened at the Newark site to accommodate the Federal and Parole contracts.
Kintock’s Bridgeton, NJ site opened in 1999, to house residents under a NJDOC contract. A second building was opened at the Bridgeton site in 2004 to serve residents under a contract with the NJSPB. Then in 2016, Kintock began providing reentry services to federal offenders under a contract with the BOP.
