Kintock Expands Voluntary Reentry Services Program

The Kintock Group of New Jersey, Inc. is pleased to announce the award of a grant for the third consecutive year. This grant will allow the continuation of free reentry services for individuals returning home from prison through the New Jersey Vantage Point program.

In July, Kintock received $350,000 in funding through the New Jersey Department of Corrections’, NJLEAD (New Jersey Locally Empowered Accountable and Determined) Initiative. The initiative aims to establish a coordinated and collaborative effort to ensure a continuum of care and treatment from prison to community.

“Since the start of the initial NJLEAD grant in November 2022, Kintock has helped more than 1,227 clients successfully return to their communities. But many more individuals face significant barriers to success, including limited access to housing, employment, and healthcare,” said Walter Simpkins, Chairman, President and CEO of The Kintock Group of New Jersey, Inc.

“Kintock is thrilled that this recent funding allows us to expand our footprint in Southern New Jersey and continue to provide this population with access to these crucial services, giving them a second chance at a new start in life,” added Mr. Simpkins.

Vantage Point is a completely voluntary program providing a customized approach to helping those formerly incarcerated. Clients can meet with a Reentry Specialist at locations convenient to where they live or work, receiving services that are tailored to their specific needs.

Through the NJLEAD grant, Vantage Point services are funded in Atlantic, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem counties. Clients receiving services via the NJLEAD grant must be within 12 months of their release from state prison or a county jail and want to work toward a better future. With the additional funding, the program is expanding access to emergency, short-term, and long-term housing options for clients.
