Sr. Counselor

This position under the supervision of the Director will provide substance abuse and other cognitive skills classes of drug/and or alcohol abuse, and assist with the supervision of other counselors. Scheduling and monitoring planned treatment activities
Scheduling personnel to oversee group activities
Assisting with the supervision of counselors
Conducting performance reviews, developmental counseling and corrective action
Representing program services at staff meetings
Assisting with Counselor/Case Managers duties when needed
Participating in mandatory training and staff development sessions
Performing all job duties in accordance with established guidelines
Preparing and submitting accurate, complete and timely reports, and
Performing other work related duties as assigned by the Director
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling or a social science; and/or current NJ Alcohol and Drug Counselor Certification (CADC) and (4) years of relevant experience preferably with an offender population in a behavior modification environment and a valid driver’s license.

HS Diploma/GED 1-2 years security/correctional experience required or AA (preferred) in criminal justice good oral & written communications skills available for shift work including weekends and holidays. As well as meeting the clearance requirements of the contracting agencies.
